When selling fish out of your aquarium, make sure they have been caught before the other hobbyist comes over to take possession of his or her new livestock. Listing the fish for sale on an aquarium forum prior to their capture is fine, and you’d hate to disrupt them if there is no sale made. But, you’d hate it even more if you promised someone a fish, and they come over expecting a fish, only to be told that they have to leave empty handed because the fish refuses to be caught. If you’re worried about the fish being out of the aquarium, just remember that some fish can rest comfortably in a 5-gallon bucket for hours. If the bucket is too small, try relocating the fish to the sump
