You know the old saying about not mixing business with friends or family, well, the same is true in the aquarium hobby. When buying and selling frags, sometimes it’s easy to just pass them off to your friends. Sure, you could make more money by selling them on the local forums to strangers, but your friends are more accessible and might be willing to give you a better deal on a trade. Unfortunately, these deals don’t always go well, and they could potentially sour a once jovial relationship. Corals may die, your friend might find them cheaper somewhere else, or your friend might even try to flip the corals for a better price. We don’t recommend selling corals to your close buddies, but rather trade them back and forth. Take the monetary gain out of it and your friendships will last longer.
