Tip of the Day – 7/29/2013

When it comes to fragging corals and picking out a particular plug, there are a million different opinions. While some may be outlandish and others quite practical, as long as the frag plug itself is reef safe, there’s really no wrong choice. Most plugs are either agrocrete (a mix of aragonite sand and concrete) or some type of fired ceramic, but other oddball items find themselves being repurposed as coral holders all the time. Everything from pieces of tile flooring to rose stem holders have been used to propogate all sorts of corals, and some folks are dreaming up new methods and tools every day. Again, there’s no real wrong choice here, unless the material is not reef safe. So, frag away my friends and let’s get creative.

Any of you have a weird and unusual frag plug?
