Tip of the Day – 12/6/2013

Some days, when you’ve had a long week at work, or the weather is muggy, or if you’re just not in the mood, it’s ok to not focus entirely on your aquarium. There is no rule out there that says we have to tinker with our tanks every day. Sure, there is more than enough value to checking on your setup daily and even making adjustments to equipment or dosing, but you’re tank won’t miss a beat in your single-day absence. Life can get very busy, and if you’ve got an established aquarium that has been well maintained, you can let nature take its course from time to time. That said, we don’t recommend that you stay away for long. Otherwise, fish will get hungry and may turn their aggravations on each other or on the tasty corals and clams that might make up their natural diet.
