Cube shaped aquariums present a unique set of challenges. While there may be sufficient volume to house large or numerous fish, the shape of the tank isn’t conducive to the fish requiring lots of swimming room. Additionally, the sump and filtration equipment must be specifically designed so as to maximize the tiny footprint of the aquarium stand. Because of this, custom made filtration equipment is a must, and you may have to ditch some of the finer amenities in order to make enough space for your protein skimmer and any other equipment you might have.
