Many hobbyists like to stick with foods that are more natural in appearance than others, as they feel the need to recreate as many aspects of nature as possible. A good example is when they ditch things like flake food for frozen or live foods because they look like actual food items that a fish would consume. But there are many advantages to using some of these “artificial” foods. Our favorite foods are the pellets, which are great for feeding fish and corals alike and are packed full of all the things a growing reef needs. Besides being nutritionally sound, the food can also be mashed up into balls or other shapes to help with target feeding specific organisms. Individual pellets can feed small fish, or mushed up into much larger mega-pellets to feed larger fish.
