If you feed frozen foods to your fish, then this tip is for you. Frozen food products often come packaged with all sorts of aquarium contaminants. The binding agents for the food, along with other substances, can really foul up your water quality and even cause a significant amount of cloudiness that lasts for hours. To clean the food, all you have to do is run tap water over it. Obviously, to keep it from all going down the sink, you’ll need to put the foot in some sort of mesh or filter. Many hobbyists use pantyhose, various strainers of human food, and pretty much anything that will keep the food items but none of the residue. This simple step takes just a few minutes, but it could have extremely positive result.
