The Waikiki Aquarium is arguably one of the best facilities in the world, and according to KHON2 News, it’s only gotten better. On Friday, July 4th, the aquarium opened up a brand new exhibit called Amazing Adaptations. The 3000-gallon facility is 60 feet long and will feature seahorses, seadragons and pipefish…all of which have extreme adaptations to survive in specific environments. The animals will be spread across 9 different tanks within the exhibit, which features locally sourced pipefish as well as Australian seadragons.
This new exhibit is the largest one that the Waikiki Aquarium has opened in a decade and certainly will add to its allure. The aquarium already features some impressive collections of rate Hawaiian angelfish, giant Tridacna gigas clams, and massive live coral displays, and the new seahorse/pipefish display will add yet another interesting feature to the facility.
