Our aquariums may each be different in one way or another, but the common factor that holds then all together is that they all run on electricity. That in mind, saltwater and electricity don’t exactly make great bed fellows. Because of this, it is crucial to always inspect powers cords, looking for any cracks in the outer sheath and checking for corrosion on the metal prongs of the plugs. If you neglect these things and let saltcreep and moisture accumulate on the plugs and power strips, you could ruin equipment and possibly even start a fire.
