When introducing new livestock to your aquarium, there is always an intense curiosity from existing residents. While this curiosity is usually just that, it oftentimes leads to aggressions that can ultimately result in fish death. The best way to diffuse these aggressions is to introduce the fish at night when all of the fish are hiding in the rocks and not trying to defend their territory. It also helps to keep the tank dimly lit for the next few days, as it lets the new fish better acclimate to the tank and the existing fish adapt to their new tankmate.
