Reef Currents Corals

LPS corals come in a huge variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. While most of them have huge, fleshy polyps draped over hard calcium skeletons, others like the Leptastrea are far less showy, in that respect. Instead, these much smaller fleshy polyps stay close to the skeleton and don’t do a whole lot of flowing. Still, they are beautiful corals and are certainly worthy of our attention. This week, we are featuring a vivid orange Leptastrea colony that we spotted at Reef Currents 2014 at the FJW Aquarium booth. There were several to be had, though they went quickly as did most other corals at the show.
