Pictured in this round of the AquaNerd POTW is an awesome little Tahitian Tridacna maxima clam, which we spotted at FJW Aquarium here in the Houston area. This lovely clam sports a rich black and blue mantle, with the patten being someone splotchy and kind of all over the place. The signature “eye spots”, or ocelli, are present all around the edge of the mantle, a typical trait of most clams and particular prevalent on T. maxima.
