Tip of the Day – 12/12/2014

When decorating your home for the holidays, some obviously get a bit more carried away than others, but the key takeaway is to keep all of the glitter, tinsel, and artificial frost out of your aquarium. With all the activities going on in and around your tank, it is inevitable that some foreign objects make splashdown. And while a little glitter is probably the least of your concerns, things like poinsettia leaves and that spray-on white frost material may cause a few problems if they get into your aquarium and are allowed to linger. So, please be mindful of the various new objects in your home that could get into your sump or somehow into your display aquarium, especially if you have any decoration-happy children.
