In many industries, there is a strong notion to help protect your co-workers by basically being your brother’s keeper. Now, this isn’t a way to sidestep personal responsibility, but it empowers folks to speak up if they see something that is unsafe or could lead to some significant financial loss. This mentality doesn’t have to be limited to industry, however, as it can be applied to all walks of life, including the aquarium world. How can we? Well, if you ever see an aquarist that is doing something dangerous to themselves or their aquatic livestock, don’t hesitate to say something. Many times, the hobbyist may not know they are doing something wrong or they may not be aware of a particular situation. So, if you see something, say something. You might anger your fellow aquarist with your suggestions, but at the end of the day, if it says the lives of someone’s animals, it would be totally worth it.
