Back in September of last year, we discussed the teardown of Sunny’s famous rimless reef aquarium. About a month after the teardown, we were told of a much larger rimless reef in the planning stages. The new 246-gallon rimless tank went through a lengthy build on a couple of forums, finally turning into the gorgeous week-old reef in the video above. The live rock layout is minimal, very similar to Sonny’s previous rimless aquarium, but the lighting scheme is far different than his other tank. Instead of relying solely on T5HO, this tank will have three metal halides with T5HO supplementation. We will continue to follow the mouth-watering build thread and watch this tank mature into the spectacular reef I’m sure it will become.
