If you’re in New York City or the surrounding area this weekend, Manhattan Reefs is hosting their annual Spring Frag Swap this Sunday, May 20th. And from what we can tell, it’s going to be a great event. Besides being loaded down with an impressive list of vendors that includes Two Little Fishies, Cherry Corals, Pacific East Aquaculture, and over 15 more, the event will also feature a couple of popular guest speakers. Joe Yaiullo will be speaking about nutrient export in his 20,000 gallon reef tank at Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center and Gary Parr, co-host of the Reef Threads podcast, will be sticking to his specialty of aquarium photography.
Admission to the event is $25 and you’ll need to RSVP in advance in order to secure your ticket. Included in the price is a catered lunch, as well as access to the aquarium vendors, the guest speakers, and a pair of fragging demonstrations. In terms of timing, the doors open at 10am sharp and close at 6pm. The speakers and frag demos happen back to back from 11am to 3pm, with the catered lunch breaking in after the first speaker. To close the day, a raffle will take center stage, with tons of prizes up for grabs.
