CoralVue has some exciting news for us today. According to a just released press statement, the Louisiana based aquarium equipment distributor has secured sole rights to the Giesemann GmbH brand. They will become the lone distributor for the entire Giesemann line in the US effective April 15th, 2014 and will service all warranties for the products even if they were purchased from somewhere else. All current and unfulfilled orders will become null and void, and CoralVue will assume no financial liabilities for orders placed with other companies..
Also part of their big news is the resurrection of the IceCap brand, which technically never really went away in the first place. When IceCap shut its doors back in 2010, former president Chris Conti went to work for CoralVue as a vice president, and he took several IceCap products with him. The famous IC 660 and 440 ballasts were rebadged under the CoralVue label, but now they will be sporting their traditional blue and white that was so recognizable in the first decade of the 2000’s. The re-launch will officially take place in late spring/early summer 2014, and we’ve been told that at least five new products will be announced to the line prior to Interzoo.
