Looking for an ultra rare surgeonfish? Well, here’s your chance. LiveAquaria recently posted a Gem Tang (Zebrasoma gemmatum) for sell in their Diver’s Den. This high dollar beauty has been at the LiveAquaria facility for well over a month, has been quarantined, and is in tip top shape. This juvenile is a cute 2 1/2″ long and has a retail price of $3500, making it the most expensive tang offered in the aquarium industry. This individual comes from Mauritius, a small island in the western side of the Indian Ocean, and is found at depths up to 200ft or more. While these fish have been in the hobby for years, they don’t pop up every day, so it’s exciting to see one in the hands of one of the best online retailers in the country, who are well known for their quality livestock and quarantine procedures.
