GHL Releases First Image of Their New LED Fixture

GHL LED Fixture

Although GHL has been very hush hush about their latest project, they’ve finally released an image of their upcoming high end LED fixture. As we can see from the lone teaser image, the unnamed LED fixture sports a sizable LCD screen that shows important details of the fixture’s operation to the user and several illuminated touch sensitive controls that allow hobbyists to fully adjust any of the 8 independent LED channels or operate one of the many different light cycles. Besides showing off the sleek, button-less interface, the image also shows us just how stylish the fixture will be. In typical GHL fashion, the module is both simple and elegant, with no unnecessary features to distract from the overall visual experience of the aquarium it will hover over.

As with any teaser image, this one really leaves us wanting more. For example, will a more affordable slave unit without the LCD and on-board touch sensitive buttons be available? GHL revealed that the modules can be arranged in master/slave configurations, though they’ve made no mention of multiple models. Also, what does the rest of the fixture look like? We’re told that the 62 LEDs in the GHL module are arranged in six distinct clusters, but how will the fixture look on the underside? We’ll continue to speculate, and hopefully our assumptions will be put to rest later this month, as we expect this new fixture to be on display at Interzoo.
