Looking to add a little shimmer to your aquarium but don’t want to ditch your tried and true T5HO fluorescent lighting? It’s not uncommon for aquarists to buck current trends and hold onto what made their aquarium successful over the years. For example, if a hobbyist has been using T5HO lights for years and have had success, then why change at all? Thankfully, to add things like shimmer to your aquarium, you don’t have to ditch your current gear to get it. Just add LEDs to your lighting scheme and you’ll instantly get that desired shimmer. The only caveat to that statement is that you need to have a fairly powerful LED system to overcome the light from the T5HO.
