Unfortunately I’m not the one relocating to this Pacific paradise. A friend from my local reef club got that opportunity, and he’s taking it of course. Chuck, a mechanical engineer, applied for a job on a whim, not thinking anything would come of it. Fast forward a few months and he’s got the job offer letter in hand. The job is a 2-year contract on a military installation on Kwajalein, an atoll in the Marshall Islands. Chuck will be able to ride his bike to work, wear shorts and sandals every day, go diving during lunch breaks, and basically work in place where a lot of people would dream to vacation in. Since the job is only a 2 year contract, if for some reason Chuck and/or his family decides they can’t stand to live on a gorgeous pacific island, they only have to suffer for a couple of years.

I have talked with Chuck briefly and he has agreed to let us not only share his story, but photos he takes while on vacation, I mean at work. So, hopefully we’ll get a ton of beautiful pictures from the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
